I just finished reading a novel, called Travel in Love.
When I read the title in the bookstore, I think about a couple traveling together.
That part is right, actually.
But, this novel telling us more about traveling than love story.
Travel in Love. It's about a couple break from their works, decided to travel around China.
As we know, China is a big country, a BIGGEST country.
They have already gone to 14 provinces, 60 cities.
Telling us about places that sometimes missed, if go with tour.
This novel mostly telling us about information about places, how to find a cheap hotel, suitable for backpacker.
From all the places that they have been gone, I knew several places.
First, HANG ZHOU.
Hangzhou is the capital city of Zhe Jiang. It's famous for its natural beauty.
Well, actually China is famous for its natural beauty, right?
But, Hangzhou is one of them =)
I joined a tour to went to China about 3 years ago. When I arrived in Hang Zhou, I fell in love with this place.
In Hangzhou, there's a lake which is really famous. Called West Lake.
It's also a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE.
As we can see for the picture above, that is West Lake. We can ride a boat to go around the lake.
Enjoying the view.
From here, we can see historic pagoda, beautiful bridges, other beautiful views.
Talking about bridges, well, I've told by a Chinese tour guide.
There's is a myth in West Lake, if we walk through one of the bridges with the person we love,
we will married with him/her.
I don't it's true or not, but it's a myth, we can believe it or not =)
*from distance we can see Leifeng Pagoda, one of the famous Pagodas there*
Do you know "Yue Liang Ba Wo De Xin" song?
Well, people there said the maker of that song make it when he joined a boat in West Lake.
Then, when he enjoyed the night view there, he saw a moon then made that song.
=P
Second place is Yue Fei Temple.
Yue Fei is a national hero in Song dynasty but he sentenced to death by the Song Dynasty Government for the crime he didn't commit.
To remind him, government built a temple for him.
The interesting part of this temple *for me* is there is a kneeling statues.
.....after having Yue Fei, Yue Yun, Zhang Xian arrested under false charges, Qin Hu and his wife, Lady Wang, were sitting by the "eastern window", warming themselves by the fire, when he received a letter from the people calling for the release of Yue Fei. Qin was worried because after nearly two months of torture, he could not get Yue to admit to treason and would eventually have to let him go. However, after a servant girl brought fresh oranges into the room, Lady Wang devised a plan to execute Yue. She told Qin to slip an execution notice inside the skin of an orange and send it to the judge presiding over Yue's case. This way, Yue and his companions would be put to death before the emperor or Qin himself would have to rescind an open order of execution..... (taken from wikipedia)
For their part in Yue Fei's death, kneeling iron statues for Qin Hui, Lady Wang, and 2 subordinates were made to knees before Yue Fei's tomb.
Well, a national hero will reminded in everyone's heart, always. Especially when he/she loyal to the country and honest. Maybe Yue Fei haven't punished the betrayal people, but they have been punished for such a long time.
It's interesting how people made kneeling statues for Yue Fei's justice.
I hope we can learn from this story =)
From many beautiful places in Hang Zhou, I just went to 2 famous places because of the short time I had that time.
Well, maybe, someday if I have a chance I will go there again. =)
